"I was not afraid today" are two films at the same time. The first one portrays two sisters in their daily lives and the second one gets rid of the linear narration in search of a free manipulation of the visual and sound texture.

Three farmers work on a farm in Entre Ríos, a sparsely populated lowland region of Argentina traversed by rivers. Their crops are affected by ‘black frost’ which threatens to destroy their harvest. One day, a young woman appears at their door; blithely and self-assuredly she begins to influence their familiar routines. The bewildered farmers yield to Alejandra’s interventions: she dons Heribertos’ dead wife’s clothes, accompanies Benigno to a greyhound race and wins young Lucas’ friendship. Shortly afterwards, the frost disappears.

Amid the routine of farm work, Alejandra pursues a foreign worker. Lucas, her brother, pursues her. Jealousy, hidden within the silences of the farm, slowly begins to surface.

Adolfo, 60 years old, soon to retire, has the only chance to do something important in his life. He works as a public employee in a forgotten agency: Department of Paranormal Intelligence. After a mysterious accident: some children disappear in the river without any trace of their bodies. He, who has not solved a case in 15 years, is sent to Victoria.
