The story revolves around Mursi (Adel Imam), a poor history teacher, married and suffering from an ambitious financial crisis in life, who gets involved with an old colleague at the university (Salwa), who runs her house for prostitution and hides him. Hamida dreams of studying at the faculty of commerce and live her life like any ordinary girl, but her narrow minded father wants her to stay at home and wait for her future husband. With the help of her boyfriend Hassan, who is a medical student he arranges for her to disguise herself as a man after lying to her father that his daughter had undergone a procedure and became a male.

Mamdouh meets with Hanan on a ship heading to Greece, and a romance starts between them, so Mamdouh proposes to Hanan. To his surprise, Hanan returns suddenly to Egypt and asks him not to try to find her again. Mamdouh returns to Egypt to find that she is married to Ezzat Beik, a very powerful man, and a war ensues between Mamdouh and Ezzat.
