Die Pfefferkörner is a German television series produced by Der Kinderkanal. The peppercorns are five friends from Hamburg: Jana Holstein Coutre, Natasha "Tascha" Jaonzäns, Philip "Fiete" Overbeck, Cem Gülec and Vivien "Vivi" Overbeck, Fiete's eight year old sister. After school, the young detectives meet at a high level of a spice warehouse of the company Overbeck & Associates, which belongs to Fiete and Vivi's parents in the first part, but is later given to Fiete and Vivi to look after. The story revolves around Hans, a kind-hearted but not particularly bright young man. He is bored on his father's farm. He would love to see something of the world and find a woman to marry. So he sets off and wants to visit his grandmother at the same time. However, the route takes him right through the fairytale land of the Brothers Grimm, where he meets various characters from their stories: Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Rumpelstiltskin, Mother Hulda, the Brave Little Tailor, Puss in Boots, Master Pfriem and, finally, Father Death. The latter is a little under the weather and the unsuspecting Hans helps him back on his feet.

The year is 1944, Atze and Samuel occasionally operate on the black market, but mostly keep quiet and wait for the Americans to come. When the last German submarine, the U-900, is sent on a final mission, Atze foolishly messes with the general of this mission and has to go undercover.
