Two villages in Tibet have competed in archery for a thousand years. This is the story of the competition between Dradong and Nyima who each represent their village. As the story opens, Nyima has won the annual competition and is in love with Dradong's younger sister which angers Dradong. This film depicts Tibetan tradition and encroachment of modern technology.

More than 5,000 kilometres long, highway 318 connects China with Tibet and is one of the world's most picturesque routes. It is where Xiaojia, who is Chinese, meets Suona from Tibet one day. Each of them set off on a long journey for a different reason, but they have one thing in common: they both believe it will help them atone for mistakes from the past. Dealing with loneliness, fears and qualms of conscience, they want to find solace. Their tough journey together across endless valleys and snowy mountains will bring them closer to each other, becoming a deep inner journey and a meditation on life. Harsh, mysterious and breath-taking, highway 318 can become a road to redemption.

Lhamo and Skalbe fail to get married when they find out that Skalbe has already registered a marriage. Memories rush back as Skalbe embarks on a journey in search for his so-called ex-wife Cuoyehe, only to discover that the girl had renunciated her secular life when she broke their marriage promise four years ago. As a result, Cuoyehe's religious identity causes great difficulty in Skalbe's attempt at a divorce. On the other hand, Lhamo becomes aloof.

The Mo siblings from Nanjing move to Inner Mongolia’s grasslands, where they work with the Ulan Muqi troupe and local herders. Along the way, they face love, loss, and personal growth while pursuing their dreams.
