He made his professional acting debut in 2018 starring in the popular web series A-TEEN, which launched his career in the Korean entertainment industry. Kim achieved rapid mainstream success with key roles in major hit television dramas, including Sky Castle (2018–2019) and Itaewon Class (2020). He earned critical praise for his compelling lead performance in the Netflix original crime drama series Extracurricular (2020). His film credits include the historical action-spy film Phantom (2023).
