Goede tijden, slechte tijden, also known as GTST, is the longest-running Dutch soap opera, revolving around the lives of the families Alberts, Sanders, De Jong, Van Houten and Bouwhuis. It all takes place in the fictional town of Meerdijk.

Former Amsterdam police detective Floris Wolfs has been transferred to the police department of the south-Dutch country town Maastricht. His metropolitan experience nicely complements the local expertise of his new country colleagues, who know the folks. Slowly he fits in, while solving countless crimes together with his female partner Eva van Dongen.

Four women are sick of being poor. They decide to rob a bank. They are surprised how easily they get away with it and start to commit more robberies. When the net finally closes around them they decide to make one last big hit.

Luke is a young man, he is 24. He has simple life and lives in the suburb of Amsterdam. Luke has also a girlfriend that he's known since he was a kid. Every day he and his buddies go to a pool center. Their motto is "live today and not tomorrow". But Luke has a dream - he wants to become a director. He is currently following an expensive filmmaking course. For a project for the course he needs to work together with Marlene. She has a more complex life and is from a different social class. Together they decide to do this project - Marlene will cover the making of Luke's movie as Luke decides to make a film about himself.
