This cartoon was produced by a French/American/Canadian animation studio, DIC Entertainment, and as standard practice for TV cartoons of the period, the animation production was outsourced overseas to the Japanese studio TMS Entertainment. The Get Along Gang are characters created in 1983 by American Greetings' toy design and licensing division, "Those Characters from Cleveland", for a series of greeting cards. The Get Along Gang are a group of twelve pre-adolescent anthropomorphic animal characters in the fictional town of Green Meadow, who form a club that meets in an abandoned caboose and who have various adventures whose upbeat stories intended to show the importance of teamwork and friendship. The success of the greeting card line led to a Saturday morning television series, which aired on CBS for 13 episodes in the 1984-1985 season, with reruns from January until June 1986.

Rainbow Brite, and her magical horse Starlite, must stop an evil princess and her underlings from taking over the planet Spectra. When they meet Orin, the wise Sprite tries to make the two children get along and work together to stop the evil Princess. Orin tells them that they can only destroy her by combining their own powers against her. Getting in the way of their mission is the sinister Murky Dismal and his bumbling assistant Lurky who, as usual, are lavishing in the new gloom created by the darkening of Spectra, as well as trying to steal Rainbow's magical color belt.

Miser Ebenezer Scrooge is awakened on Christmas Eve by spirits who reveal to him his own miserable existence, what opportunities he wasted in his youth, his current cruelties, and the dire fate that awaits him if he does not change his ways. Scrooge is faced with his own story of growing bitterness and meanness, and must decide what his own future will hold: death or redemption.

Henry's parents are lost in Africa, so he must live with his greedy and heartless Uncle Augustus. In the crevices of the house live the "Littles" kind, elf-like creatures. August enslaves Henry and wants to tear down his house to build a shopping center. Grandpa Little cares for Tom and Lucy, the Littles' children. Tom befriends a vicious cat by removing a splinter from his paw. After a series of adventures, the Littles and Henry get evidence of Augustus' plot to steal Henry's home. Augustus is arrested, the house is saved, and all ends well.

On their way to New York City for the Fourth of July, a storm forces the Littles to crash near the Statue of Liberty. Inside the statue they discover a community of French Littles ruled by a General. The French Littles wake up to the world around them and realize they have been living without the most important thing to them -- Liberty. The General is arrested and promised a fair trial and the French Littles start making plans for elections to guarantee nothing like this will happen again.

Pete & Tracy notice something strange is happening to all of the colors of the zoo animals; they try to enlist the help of Rainbow Brite, not knowing that it's all part of Murky Dismal's dastardly plot to lure and capture Rainbow Brite.

A greedy Indian persuades his tribe to sell the lonesome 'Spirit Island' for a congress center. Instead of transferring the historical graves on it like he tells his tribe, he plans to wipe them out. By accident a group of two Indian kids and two friends from Chicago on vacation are flown to the island and get in his way.
