Mikhail is fascinated by the ideas of the Decembrists about a Russia free from the tyranny of the Tsar. After graduating from military school, he goes abroad. Upon returning to Russia, a tragic life awaits him.

A young 19-year old girl Anastasia (O.Bobyleva) comes to a big Siberian construction site. She dreams of being a welder, but at the moment there are no vacancies, and she has to begin her labor activity in a canteen. And after a local kinder garden is left without a mentor, nobody can fancy a better candidate that Nastya. She loves kids, and the main thing is that the feeling is mutual. Once during a storm an accident happens a motor-launch, carrying workers across a river, crashes. Three children become orphans. Nastya doesnt let the construction head send them to the orphanage and decides to adopt them.

This movie deals with two friends, 13-14 year old boys. One comes from a more or less stable home (although he is growing up with single mom) and another comes from a broken up family. One day the kids break into a store to pretty much have fun and get something to eat, short time after they get caught and one kid is sent to juvenile prison (14 year old) and another one is released to his being too young to be tried (13 years old). The younger kid feels bad about such decision, feels guilty and tries to help his friend in any way possible. While trying to help he is meeting a guy, who is ex-cop and now down-on-his-luck drunk(played by Priyomykhov himself)... the two become friends. In the finale, the ex-cop has to go one of the PTA meeting at school (his mother could not get away from work and knows nothing about the ex-cop) where suddenly his mother appears and meets the "father"...

Veliky Ustyug at the beginning of the 17th century. Semyon Dezhnyov falls in love with the daughter of a rich merchant — Avdotya, but the groom is poor. The girl's father sets a condition: Dezhnyov must go to Siberia and get rich — only then will he receive consent to marry. Dezhnyov agrees and leaves for Siberia. Although he passes the test, he does not return to Avdotya. He finds a strait "from a warm sea to a cold one": from the mouth of the Kolyma he swims to the Pacific Ocean and opens the strait between the continents.

At the center of the story is the relationship of a young mother with her 14-year-old daughter, who actually considers her mother to be an older sister, and her grandparents - real parents.

A former policeman Pozhivaev once notices a leaflet on a post - "A dog has disappeared ...". After a couple of meters, he stumbles upon another ad - about finding a dog. It turns out that it was about the same dog. Pozhivaev decides to help deliver the dog to the owner, who turns out to be his neighbor... So the hero comes up with the idea to create a Service for the search and rescue of pets. It includes a self-taught mechanic Vitya Burkin, an avid computer scientist Garik and Mikhalych, a young authority on the bird market...
