A hundred of Sweden's most radical leftists formed secret Maoist cells in Uppsala and Stockholm in 1968. They called themselves the Rebels. They began to retrain/reform individuals and families to lead Sweden into the Culture revolution. No revolution ever happened, still the rebels managed to shake up both themselves and the entire left movement to a degree that history repressed their existence for almost forty years.

This is the year when the Vietnam War ends and terrorists take over the West German embassy in Stockholm. On TV, Staffan Westerberg's "Vilse i Pannkakan" coincides with Ingmar Bergman's "The Magic Flute". Despite the cold war, the USA and the Soviet Union take the opportunity to meet - in space! SexTV is a Canadian documentary television series which explores many issues about human sexuality. The show premiered in 1998 and spun off a television channel called SexTV: The Channel in 2001. The series uses two Leonard Cohen songs, "Everybody Knows" and "Ain't No Cure for Love", as theme music.
