This is the story of a man who travels the country alone, dragging all his small possessions behind him on a cart he has constructed. His attitude causes a variety of reactions from people - from kindness to outright dislike and intolerance.

The final months of World War II. The fate of a young girl, Second Lieutenant Horak, and an experienced frontline officer, Lieutenant Colonel Kaszyba.

The film tells the trials and tribulations of marriage Kosińskich, which breaks down as a result of his wife travel to work abroad in Amsterdam. The woman extends her stay in the Netherlands, and eventually divorces her husband Paul. In parting, their deprived son Michael looses both parents, and is forced to be present in court for divorce hearings and sent to child care services.

Peter and Bozena are studying medicine, they love each other and want to be together. The girl, after a dramatic experience, breaks off contact with her parents and moves out. With the help of a friend, the young couple manages to rent a small apartment. However, their life is not going well. Peter begins to cheat on Bozena. Accidentally met Joe slips the girl a drug. One time was enough for Bozena to go in search of an illusory land of happiness - Alabama, which does not exist. However, the girl finds out too late.

Doctor Ewa Lipska, an attractive young woman just after graduation, with interesting professional prospects for the future, chooses the job of a village doctor. Brought up in a big city, she settles in the small town of Międzybórz in the Łódź Province. She is forced not only to overcome the daily difficulties resulting from medical practice in a rural health center, but also to learn to talk to people of a different mentality and gain the trust of her patients.
