In his feature film version, the Bavarian filmmaker Marcus H. Rosenmüller relies on a rapid staging, opulent images and a moving love story.

They appeal to the youth welfare office for custody of the boy and are proved right. Jonas has to return to Munich, even though he is now very happy with Grandpa Ludwig and his housekeeper Rosi.

He's convinced that he killed his mother on the day he was born and is certain he's already been condemned to purgatory. A little deception with big consequences: Because boarding school student Dorian, the daughter of a wealthy American family, would rather have a little romp with teacher Schürmann during the vacations, she equips her equally blonde friend Anna with her clothes and the snazzy sports car and sends her to Venice in her place. But Anna will never get there: Kidnappers are lying in wait for the young woman. Schürmann, on the other hand, a really bad finger, can't believe his eyes when Dorian suddenly turns up at his place; in order for her father to pay up, Dorian has to disappear again...

The starting point is the small (and real) town of Daxenbrunn, which has the misfortune of being located right on the highway to Salzburg. But Mayor Matthias and his friend and district administrator Dr. Seigis see the seemingly unfavorable geographical location as an opportunity to fill the empty coffers -- "Hendl, mehr sog I ned". A highway grill is supposed to redevelop the area, but in addition to the building permit, the land is also needed, and this is defended to the death by the old and stubborn farmer's wife Magdalena (great: Maria Singer) with weapons (!). Events come thick and fast when, almost simultaneously and independently of each other, art carver Johannes and asylum seeker Theophile turn up in the sleepy village and turn the local order upside down with their unflinching attitude.

Sofie Gruber, trapped in a loveless marriage on a remote Bavarian farm, discovers her husband dead one morning, apparently by suicide. As rumors swirl that she had a hand in his death, Sofie must confront isolation, suspicion, and the harsh realities of her life.

In order to save her mountain guesthouse from ruin, Sopie plans to build a glass extension with a pool as an attraction. The TV show is based on Purucker's radio play series Die Grandauers und ihre Zeit (‘The Grandauers and their time’).
