Nita Fernando is a legendary, award-winning Sri Lankan film actress and producer who has been a prominent figure in Sinhala cinema since the 1960s. She achieved major international acclaim for her powerful performance as Violet in Prasanna Vithanage's 1998 film Pavuru Walalu (Walls Within), which won her the Best Actress award at the 1998 Singapore International Film Festival.
