The true story of a rather unusual gymnasium class on the end of the 19th century and their professor. Full of intellectuals and young scientists, writers and artists, this class was highly with potential and many of them became famous in Serbian history.

The movie protagonist is an ordinary man from Belgrade. His daughter was stolen by his junkie wife and later sold to a rich American family. Our hero goes to America in order to find her.

Funny peasant granny moves from her village to Belgrade with her grandson so he can finish elementary school in the city. The clash between the human, rural, and honest and the depraved, false, and petty-bourgeois is inevitable.
