Three forty-year-olds friends, hockey player and football players, decide to end their sports careers at the same time. All three find themselves at the beginning of a new life and must choose the path they will take.

Amidst a large family who doesn’t understand him, Martin yearns to find someone who does. His shelter from familial storms is Theodora, an amateur photographer who helps Martin find someone in the responses to his personal ads.

Life is the only game one does not choose for oneself. The central theme of the film is not only the stories connected to the casino space, gambling and poker players, but also stories from the outside world - the game as a life feeling given to man from birth. Playing in the casino space is the essence of fun and relaxation, but also of the feeling of gambling, it has a kind of mysterious flavour to it. The world 'beyond the walls', the outside world, and therefore politics, is a world of even greater games. Politics influences people's lives, plays with them and, unlike the 'poker' world, often uses unfair means, has no set rules of the game and sometimes even fights against them.

Zuzana is an attractive and likable art student who works alongside her studies because she would like to start a life of her own. Like many young people, she is trying to find what would fulfill her, what she would like to do, find out who she would like to live with. She runs away from one lover in Bratislava to another in Paris, she is at work when she should be at school, she sleeps when she should be at home, she travels the world. She simply often feels two syllables behind. And not just literally when working in dubbing, but figuratively in his own life.

Young, inexperienced heroes, the Roma girl Darja and the "white" boy Vítek, nicknamed Ken by his friends, fall in love at a drunken dance with the intensity of their first adolescent love, unaware of the world they live in and how a mere name or skin color can arouse hatred and a desire for revenge in others.
