Ryo Nishikido

Saigo Takamori, the hero of the Meiji Restoration, was born to a poor, low-ranking samurai family in the Satsuma domain (present day Kagoshima Prefecture). His simple honesty caught the attention of its charismatic feudal lord of Satsuma, Shimazu Nariakira. Nariakira’s assertion that the love of people is what will enrich and strengthen the nation captivated Saigo who took on Nariakira’s secret mission and eventually became a key person for Satsuma. Not a portrait of him survives today and much of his life is a mystery. He is a man who was twice exiled and thrice married. He overthrew the Tokugawa Shogunate with exceptional bravery and action. Although he accomplished the restoration, he lost his life in a fight with the new Meiji government.

The 69th NHK Asadora Drama, based on Rei Nakanishi's novel, is about the Iwata family living in Ikeda, Osaka City between 1950s and 1960s. The story is told through the eyes of the youngest daughter, Fuyuko. The family runs a bakery. The mother, Teruko, is a very energetic woman who is determined to make her dreams come true. Responding to Teruko's expectations, the eldest daughter becomes a figure skater and the second daughter becomes a very famous professional singer. In contrast, Fuyuko finds her joy in bread making.

Heisuke teaches at his alma mater, an all-boy’s Buddhist high school and leads a very ordinary life, except for the fact that he is still tortured by the memory of an unfortunate incident that took place there involving him and his school 14 years ago. (This is a drama about young people including a girl who wishes to work on the stage of big sky) The headstrong Yoko Misaki (Aya Ueto) is a boyish girl who loves rock’n roll but hates dishonesty and has never once worn high heels. A chance comment by one of her friends causes her to aim for the job of a cabin attendant on an airline, which is completely out of character. Although she also feels the work is not up her alley, Yoko starts to prepare for the entrance examination with vigor, exhibiting her inborn never-say-die spirit and miraculously passing the examination. Naively assuming that she would immediately become a cabin attendant upon passing the test, Yoko of course has stiff training awaiting her.

The story delves into the realm of revenge, revolving around power struggles within a sprawling hospital.

Ganbatte Ikimasshoi was a Japanese television drama for NTV about a girl who wants to start an all-girl rowing team. To do so she needs to find at least four other members. She is met with many challenges during each episode, e.g., finding enough members, bearing the weight of being captain, going through training, and experiencing some setbacks. With the help of her coach, childhood friend Sekino Hiroyuki, and the boys' rowing team, she and her team are able to overcome those obstacles. Ganbatte Ikimasshoi is a sports drama about hope, hard work, and perseverance.

When they arrive, the daughter throws a bucket of water at them, still angry for the way her father was dismissed from his job. From there, a plan for the hospitality division is born.
