Dark Skies is an American UFO conspiracy theory-based sci-fi television series that aired from the 1996 to 1997 season for 18 episodes, plus a two-hour pilot episode. The series debuted September 21, 1996 on NBC, and was later rerun by the Sci-Fi Channel. Its tagline was "History as we know it is a lie."

The Golden Palace begins where The Golden Girls had ended, in the quartet's now-sold Miami house. Bob McKay is the creator of the 1950s comic book superhero "Mad-Dog". When a Senate sub-committee decided such reading material could corrupt young readers, Mad-Dog faded into oblivion, and Bob became a greeting card artist. Years later the American-Canadian Trans-Continental Communications Company buys the rights to the series, and Bob is offered a chance to revive Mad-Dog.
