Abduljawad is separated from his wife Iglal, and he left her with their children Hashim and Samira. Hussein proposes to Samira, but when Hussein's father insists on meeting Abduljawad, she turns to her brother Hashim, to persuade their father to go and see Igalal who still loves him.

The story revolves around Mursi (Adel Imam), a poor history teacher, married and suffering from an ambitious financial crisis in life, who gets involved with an old colleague at the university (Salwa), who runs her house for prostitution and hides him. Salwa uses the naiveté of Morsi to convince him that he attacked her He is drunk to press him to marry her pregnant.

When a committee is formed to serve the people of the neighborhood and Mr. Monjid is chosen head, dispute finds its way to the committee due to their different approaches, as Monjid believes that problems should be solved amicably, and Hanafi, one of the members, believes the law should be their reference.

Bahbah, Shiha, and Sanqur are three colleagues working in a newspaper whose editor-in-chief, Amer, stipulates that he should not be married to work there. Adel Imam and neighbour Abdel Moneim Madbouly are taken to a Police station after an altercation with a bus conductor. They are mistakenly arrested with a group of suspected terrorists and taken to a maximum security jail.

Mahgoub is a villager who moves to Cairo in search of a better life. When he enlists friend Salem's help to find him a job, Salem not only gets him a job at the ministry where he works but he finds him a bride as well. But the bride is the mistress of Qasem Bek, who will be visiting her once a week.

Hassan (Farid Shawqi) a playboy, whenever his wife Suad (Aqeela Rateb) on his disdain, throws the right of divorce, until three shots were objects, and it became difficult to retrieve them only through the "analyst", and (Hassan) finds his desired in a poor young man Suad was shocked by her car named Wahid (Anwar Wajdi). The marriage is agreed for one night, but things get complicated after Wahid falls in love with her.

Adel and Salwa love each other and decide to marry, but Adel doesn't have enough money and is reluctant to take this step. Salwa encourages him and reassures her that she will be by his side. They get married but they can't afford to buy an apartment.

An aristocratic family is torn down after the death of its patriarch. He leaves alone his widow wife and five of his daughters and sons. His eldest son, Ahmed (Shukry Sarhan), takes the role of the man in the house and helps his mother take care of his brother and sisters. Mamdouh (Ahmed Ramzy), his brother, is a self-centered man who refuses to follow his brother’s step and decides to make his own decisions in his life.

Baghdadi is an honest man, who works in a blacksmithing factory owned by Master Mabrouk. He gets fired from work after he refused to pay royalty to the foreman. He lives a life of destitution with his wife and daughter, which makes him turn to theft, but his first theft leads him to commit murder.

The everyday lives, loves and dreams of a slightly kooky modern middle-class Egyptian family in the early 1960's.

Salwa falls in love with Adel, the carefree young man, but her mother rejects this relationship, preferring him to the serious doctor Magdy, who treats her, and they actually marry to please the mother, but her heart is still attached to Adel.

This film is based on a novel from 1947 by the Nobel Prize winner Naguib Mahfouz. The story takes place during WWII and focuses on Al-Madak Alley, a teeming back street in Cairo which is presented as the microcosm of the world. A barber is in love with a young poor girl, who lives with her mother, and gets a job in an English Army camp to earn enough money for their marriage. But he is not the only one who wants to marry this girl and when the barber returns, she is gone.

The series unfolds in a comedic setting, following a young man named Tawfiq who assumes the persona of a heroic-looking figure despite being far from heroic in reality, leading him to make mistakes that ultimately expose him in front of everyone.
