In the year 10,191, the most precious substance in the universe is the spice Melange. The spice extends life. The spice expands consciousness. The spice is vital to space travel. The spice exists on only one planet in the entire universe, the vast desert planet Arrakis, also known as Dune. Its native inhabitants, the Fremen, have long held a prophecy that a man would come, a messiah who would lead them to true freedom.

Five surreal short stories make up this Mexican anthology film.

Fidencio Borer, an apothecary in a village on the northern border of Mexico, discovers some old title of a mine in Arizona and decides to claim them. Trying to cross the border is a border guard intercepted by exaggerating in the line of duty. On the way is captured by a tribe of Apaches and is about to be burned alive, but thanks to the Great Head Horse Lying having toothache and learns that the prisoner it can heal, ordered his release on the condition that the cure. Fidencio would take the wheel and gets the eternal friendship of the Chief apache.

After being released from jail, "Tarzan" Lira seeks to rebuild his life as a bank employee. Unfortunately, it might not be as easy as he thinks.

Zovek uses his powers to figure the writings are a warning that a cosmic tragedy is going to happen. Their fears prove to be true when a fire ball falls from the skies causing the ressurrection of the dead as zombies, craving for human flesh.

Over time, Candelario is gaining the confidence of his employer, and becomes indispensable. The situation will change radically when Don Lazarus discovers that Candelario is having a love affair with his wife.

During his vacations, 12-year-old Manuel travels by train with his mother to the Sierra Tarahumara to spend a few days with his father, who works in the mountains with the indigenous people protecting nature. Manuel befriends Jesus, who takes him to his town and teaches him the customs of his own. Both children discover illegal loggers.

When a worker is found murdered on the construction side, the investigation swiftly turns from things criminal to the political circumstances surrounding the building itself. The envoy gets a dagger to Camistli and he takes his life. The envoy destroys the memorials he would send to Europe and decides to stay.

On the way a man befriends Timothy with the intention to pass Marlene to him (A golden arm brace that gives who ever wears it dead eye shooting accuracy). A group of bandits notice them and see them as easy prey. they rob them of goods and supplies. on another trip the bandits seeing Mrs. Leach all alone assault her. as she lays on the ground the man who befriended Timothy strangles her. when Timothy arrives he blames the bandits and gives him Marlene and hands him a gun he is reluctant as he has never shot a gun before, but soon discovers it possesses incredible powers which uses nerves impulses to hit the target every time. Timothy is afraid but he also wants to avenge the life of his wife. even if he has to take them all on.

Para toda la vida is a Mexican telenovela produced by Lucero Suárez and Juan Osorio for Televisa, in co-production with Megavisión, and originally broadcast on Canal de las Estrellas from April 15 to August 2, 1996. It is a remake of the 1985 telenovela Vivir un poco, which was itself based on the Chilean telenovela La madrastra by Arturo Moya Grau. The story follows Elena, a woman who is wrongfully convicted of murder during a trip to Chile. After spending fifteen years in prison, she returns to Mexico under a new identity to uncover who framed her, expose the truth behind the conspiracy that destroyed her life, and reunite with the family that believes she died years earlier.
