Paraíso (1982)

This is the love story of José Eleutério—known as "The Devil's Son"—and Maria Rita—"The Little Saint"—set in the small town of Paraíso. After José is nearly crippled in a bull-riding competition, Maria Rita—despite remaining secluded in her room—manages to save his life through prayer. Following this latest "miracle," Maria enters a convent to fulfill her mother's wish, but a grateful and lovestruck José abducts the "would-be nun."
