Birinci sınıf öğrencisi Neila Salah , okulun ilk gününde Pierre Mazard’ın sınıfına geç girer; yaptığı gürültü yüzünden provokatif ve sinik bir insan olan olan hocası tarafından sorgulanırken aşağılanır. Mazard yetenekli öğrencisine özel dersler vererek kendisini geliştirmesi için büyük uğraş verir. Neila üniversiteyi birincilikle bitirir ve avukatlık hayalini gerçekleştirir. Ancak iki zıt kutbun sürtüşmesi, Neila’nın kendisine yapılan yardımın Mazard’ın kendisini kovulmaktan kurtarmak için olduğunu öğrenmesiyle tavan yapar. ‘Le Brio’, taşların yerine oturduğu görkemli bir final sekansıyla noktalanır
