Police Captain Esther Bazin in Nantes is devastated by the sudden and unexplained disappearance of her husband, Mathias. Since he is of legal age and of sound mind, no official investigation can be launched. When she encounters Douma and Frankie, volunteers with the Group for Research into Voluntary Disappearances (GRDV), she eventually joins them in an attempt to shed light on these voluntary disappearances.
