Film, küçük Chihiro ve ailesinin yeni bir kasabaya taşınmalarıyla açılır. Yolculuk esnasında yolda gördükleri bir tünele dikkat eden aile, tünelin içerisinden geçtiklerinde karşılaştıkları fantastik dünyanın içerisinde büyülenirler. Ancak bu kasabada yolunda gitmeyen bir şeyler vardır, bu büyü kısa bir zaman sonra bozulacaktır. Ailesini kaybeden küçük Chihiro, babasını kurtarmak için korku dolu bir maceraya atılacaktır.

Sıradan bir genç kız olan Sophie şeytani bir cadı tarafından büyüyle doksan yaşında bir kadına dönüşür. Sophie artık fazlasıyla yaşlanmış ve çevresi tarafından tanınmaz bir görünüme bürünmüştür. Bu yüzden büyük bir umutsuzluğa kapılan ve yaşadığı yeri terk etmek zorunda kalan Sophie, Howl isimli yürüyen bir şatoda yaşayan bir büyücünün yanına yerleşir. Bu şatoda yaşayan cinlerden biri de Sophie ile aynı kaderi paylaşmaktadır. Aynı amaç etrafında buluşan ikili kendilerine yapılan kara büyünün etkisini yok etmeye çalışacaklardır. Bu sırada şatonun dışında patlak veren savaş ülkenin birlik ve beraberliğini tehdit etmektedir. İkili artık hem kendileri için hem de ülkeleri için canları pahasına savaşmak zorunda kalacaktır.

Lise öğrencileri Mitsuha ve Taki, ayrı hayatlar yaşayan birbirine tamamen yabancı iki kişidir. Ancak bir gece, aniden yer değiştirirler. Mitsuha, Taki'nin bedeninde uyanır, Taki ise Mitsuha'nın bedeninde. Bu tuhaf olay rastgele gerçekleşmeye devam eder ve ikisi de hayatlarını birbirlerine göre ayarlamak zorunda kalır.

Hikâye, Borrower adı verilen, sadece 10 cm boyunda olan ve normal boyutlardaki sıradan insan evlerinin yer döşemelerinin altında yaşayan bir grup ufak insan etrafında şekilleniyor.

Dördüncü Etki'nin ardından, Evangelion'ları olmadan mahsur kalan Shinji, Asuka ve Rei, harap olmuş Dünya gezegeninde hâlâ var olan ender insanlık ceplerinden birine sığınır. Ta ki, rüyalarının kızı Natsuki onu 90 yaşına basacak olan büyük annesinin doğum günü için ailesinin yanına davet edene kadar. Süpürgesi havalandığı sırada Mary siyah kedi Tib’in de hapsedilmiş olduğunu fark eder. Ertesi gün akademiye dönen Mary, akademinin başkanı Bayan Pumblechook ve onun iş arkadaşı Doktor Dee’ye görünmeden tüm hayvanları serbest bırakmayı başarır. Ardından Mary de kaçar… Ancak bahsi geçen şeytan ikili Mary’yi kesintisiz bir takibe alır.

The actors are not told in advance what they will be doing, but are given the scripts on stage on the day of the performance and cast in their roles on the spot. The concept of this is a challenging impromptu script read-through. The actors participating will not be notified on the subject prior to the performance. They will be handed the script on the day itself & will have to read it on the spot. The cast read the script of "Sanpo Suru Shinryakusha" (Before We Vanish) by Maekawa Tomohiro for Episode 2 performed by Matsu Takako, Kamiki Ryunosuke, Goto Takenori, & Ohkura Koji.

Natsumi returns to Yokohama and later Masaki visits, asking her to disregard their earlier plans to get married because he will return to Morioka as requested by Katsuno. However, Natsumi surprises him with a vow to become the ryokan's okami. Is Natsumi in for clear skies as suggested by the series name?
