Bu yıl Tom Çiftlikte ile festivalin Uluslararası Yarışması’nda yer alan Xavier Dolan’ın bir önceki filmi Laurence Anyways 10 yıla yayılan benzersiz bir aşk öyküsü. 80’lerde başlayan filmde, Melvil Poupaud ameliyatla kadın olmak isteyen yazar ve edebiyat öğretmeni Laurence’i canlandırıyor. Kız arkadaşı Fred’e (müthiş bir performans sergileyen Suzanne Clément) yanlış bedende doğduğunu açıkladığında, inanılmaz zorluklara yıllar boyunca birlikte göğüs gerecek bir ikiliye dönüşüyorlar. Dolan’ın sinemasında olgunlaşma dönemine işaret eden bu melodram, 3 saate yakın süresine rağmen seyirciyi asla avucunun içinden bırakmıyor.
