Sasha, a top student at the police academy, faces his toughest assignment yet: serving in the most troubled district of Yugodonsk. He also hopes to find the father he has never met—a legendary criminal investigator. But instead of the model cop he imagined, Sasha discovers his complete opposite: a seasoned detective nicknamed Maloy. Over the years, Maloy has learned to live by a simple rule: live and let live. For the sake of an easier life, he turns a blind eye to the locals’ minor offenses. Now Sasha faces a nearly impossible challenge: solve a string of complicated cases while reforming his new partner—and father—a man who has long preferred his own rules to police procedure.
