Tru Hawkins tries to avoid the path of his wayward older brother, Six, and seeks refuge in the mundane life of a 9 to 5. Here he meets the temptress Nadine, who leads him straight down into the very life he hoped to avoid. The environment in which Tru lives is unkind.
