A natural aversion to work leads the young Eddie Chapman on the path of professional crime after a brief interlude in the military. With an older friend, who initiated him into the art of cracking safes, he was the first to use plastic explosives from America. A Scotland Yard special commission tries in vain to track down the "plastic brothers" - as the friends call themselves. But how long can Eddie Chapman and his companion go undetected?
