Mazinger Z’de kötü niyetli bir bilim adamının dirilttiği Miken Uygarlığı devlerinin insanlığa hakim olmasını engellemeye çalışan Juuzo Kabuto, insanlığın son umududur. Kabuto, Chogokin Z adlı süper dayanıklı bir metalden, foton gücünü kullanan bir reaktörle çalışan Mazinger Z adlı dev bir robot yapmıştır.
