Keşfetmek istediği yeni topraklarda altın ve şeref peşindedir. Keşif rotasını Çin'e çevirir...Columbus, aylar süren seyahati sonrası Kuzey Amerika'nın kıyı adalarını tesadüfen bulur. İspanya için sömürge kurabileceği dünyaya ait yeni cennet karayı hayal eder. Ama bir problem vardır. Yeni Dünya'da yaşayan yerliler zaten oradadırlar ve Columbus'tan önce yaşamlarını sürdüre gelmektedirler. He clashes with one of the new settlers, Lije Evans, who doesn't quite appreciate Tadlock's ways. Along the way, the families must face death and heartbreak and a sampling of frontier justice when one of them accidentally kills a young Indian boy.
