Film5.8Jay Austin artık sivil bir polis dedektifidir. Yarbay Alan Caldwell, birkaç yıl önce sarhoş bir sürücüye yapılan muameleyle ilgili olarak, çıkan anlaşmazlık sebebiyle askeri polisten ayrılmıştır. Polislikten ayrıldığında Austin'in amiridir. Şimdi ise yetki alanlarını aşan bir dizi cinayet onları yeniden birlikte çalışmaya zorlamaktadır. Austin'in Caldwell'in kızıyla çıkıyor olması, bu iş ilişkisine hiç de yardımcı olmamaktadır.
