A hundred years ago, long-distance travel became popular and a social event, rather than the expeditions that had previously been the case. A new feeling of wanderlust emerged. The five-part series shows a journey around the globe with previously unpublished film footage from the 1920s and 1930s, photographs by on-board photographers and notes by travel writers.
