Biyografik filmde, St. Damian Kilisesinin onarılması, Papa Innocence ile görüşmesi gibi Assisi'linin hayatında önemli olan hadiselerin anlatımının yanında, filmin görselliği ve müzikleri de azize yaraşır biçimde huzuru yansıtıyor, belki yaşadığı acılara daha fazla odaklanılabilir ve drama daha fazla ağırlık verilebilirdi ancak, film böylesi huzurlu bir anlatımdan mahrum kalırdı.
