Film7.7DramRomantikBirbirlerinden sınıfları, geçmişleri, yaş ve meslekleriyle ayrılan üç eski Amerikan askeri ve onların yeniden sivil hayata ayak uydururken karşılaştıkları sorunlar üzerine dokunaklı bir savaş sonrası destan... Bu üç adam, II. Dünya Savaşı sonunda yaşadıkları kente geri dönerler; başarılı bankacı Al, güvenli yaşamına; eskiden bir garson olup savaşta hava kuvvetlerinde yüzbaşılığa yükselmiş Fred, savaş sırasında evlendiği ve pek iyi tanımadığı eşiyle endişe veren kavuşmaya; eskiden öğrenci olup savaşta kollarını kaybeden Homer ise, sevgilisinin sakatlığına vereceği tepki konusundaki şüphelerine. Bunlardan ikisi geri dönüşte başarılı olacaktır: eskiden olduğu gibi yemekli toplantılarda konuşmalar yapan Al genç bir çiftçiye teminatsız kredi vermeye çekinmez; Homer’in sevgilisi onu hayal kırıklığına uğratmaz; kimsenin kabul etmediği Fred ise toplumun dışında kalacaktır, hayatının en güzel yıllarını geride bırakmıştır...
