Bu zamanda kadar uzun metraj filmlerde rol alan Bernd, ilk tiyatro oyununa hazırlanmaktadır. “Gasmann” adında, muhtaç durumdaki kişileri seyyar gaz odalarında toplamakla görevli iki SS subayı hakkında oyun için hazırlanan Bernd’in aklında birçok soru işareti vardır. Profesyonel yaşamının yanı sıra özel hayatında da sorunlar yaşayan Bernd, karısı ile boşanmasının ardından oğlu ile de nadir görüşmeye başlar. Sıkıntılı bir süreçten geçen Bernf, rolü üzerine çalışırken rolü ile arasında garip bir bağlantı olduğunu keşfeder ve bu durum üzerine hayatının değişmesine neden olacak bir karar verir.

His son Götz, named after Heinrich's favorite role of the peasant war hero from Goethe's play "Götz von Berlichingen", plays scenes from his father's life and allows his enormous creative power to shine through. Nothing is left out, nothing glossed over in this story of a man with many facets. Götz George, one of Germany's best-known actors, is at the center of this homage, which is also a reappraisal of the contradictions in his father's life. As the only follower from the acting profession, Heinrich George had to pay with his life. He was not officially rehabilitated until 1998.

  The alleged murderer of a policewoman, Frank Keller, applies for release from preventive detention after 15 years in prison. However, it is rejected. Out of desperation, Keller takes his lawyer hostage and flees the courtroom. His first destination is the house of the edgy and highly respected police instructor Bruno Theweleit. Keller is said to have shot his colleague 15 years ago. After the incident, young policewoman Lena Frey sets off on her own search for clues and comes across more and more contradictions in the version of events that is supposed to have happened 15 years ago. This draws the displeasure of Theweleit and the shady inspector Günther Lehmann, who was also involved in the incident. After a meeting with Keller, Frey begins to doubt the man's guilt.
