Gece yemek masası çevresinde başlar ve çiftler aşkın ve rastlantıların sonunda bir araya gelirler. Henrik babasının yeni eşi Anne ile aşkı keşfeder. Malcolm'un eşi ise kocasını kıskandırmak için Frederik'e ilgi göstermektedir ve bu ilgi iki erkeği rus ruletine kadar götürür.
