The Air I Breathe, bu 4 duyguyu sembolize eden 4 insanın iç içe geçen hikayesini anlatıyor. At yarışı oynayıp kaybeden Mutluluk, Fingers isimli mafya babasına borçlanır. Zevk ise, Fingers’ın yanında çalışan bir çete lideridir ve patronun emriyle yeğeni Tony’nin belaya bulaşmasını engellemekle görevlendirilir. Keder’i temsil eden Trista isimli pop starın menajeri yıldızın sözleşmesini Fingers’a devredince Trista, Fingers’ın baskısı altında kalır. Öte yandan, hayatının aşkı ölmek üzere olan doktor (Sevgi) da umutsuzca sevdiği kadın için çok nadir rastlanan bir kan grubunu bulmak için çırpınmaktadır.
