Tolstoy’un destansı başyapıtı, yönetmen Sergei Bondarchuk tarafından kusursuz bir şekilde beyazperdeye aktarılıyor. Oscar ödüllü bu başyapıtta, Rusya’da 1805’de başlayan olaylar dizisi, beş aristokrat ailenin öyküsü etrafında anlatılır ve 1812’de Napolyon’un Rusya’yı işgaliyle zirve yapar. Tolstoy’un dört ciltlik bu dev eserindeki tarihi detayların inanılmaz bir özenle aktarıldığı filmde, 45 dakikalık savaş sahneleri o kadar gerçekçidir ki çekimlerde 120.000 kişilik bir ordu oluşturulmuş ve pek çok at öldürülmüştür. Sovyetler Birliği’ndeki müzelerden alınan eşyaların kullanıldığı film, gerçeğe son derece yakındır. "Savaş ve Barış", aynı adlı romandaki duyguları ve atmosferi de başarıyla sinema diline aktarır. "Edebiyatla sinemanın kusursuz evliliği" olarak nitelendirilen filmin çekimleri tam yedi yıl sürmüş, yapımda binlerce oyuncu rol almış ve dönemin koşullarında 100 milyon dolara mal olmuştur.

Napolyon'un 500.000 kişilik ordusu Rusya'nın içlerine doğru ilerler ve Borodino savaşında doruğa ulaşan büyük bir yıkıma neden olur. Rus ordusu geri çekilmek zorunda kalır. Moskova işgal edilir, yağmalanır ve yakılır ancak kısa süre sonra Napolyon kontrolü kaybeder ve kaçmak zorunda kalır. Savaşta her iki taraf da çok büyük kayıplara uğrar ve Rus toplumu geri dönülmez bir şekilde değişir.

Along with the personal fate of the heroes, the film shows battle scenes, the activities of headquarters and intelligence, those who worked at the front and in the rear.

Fascist Italy's prime-minister Mussolini is arrested following the Allies landing in Sicily. Meanwhile, Soviet troops plan their offense towards Kyiv. Lt. Col. Germany, 1944. A group of international soldiers are trying to prevent Germans from finalizing research and development of FAU-2 rockets.

The year is 1940 and Nazi Germany is at the height of its military prowess, having captured most of Europe and eyeing the Soviet Union to the East. The Russian military command suspects hostile intent from Germany and so arranges for its spies to infiltrate ranks of the German military and the SS. Alexander Belov is a Russian spy, who travels from Soviet-held Latvia to Nazi Germany under an alias of Johann Weiss. His mastery of the German language, steel nerves and an ability to manipulate others help him to use his connections in the SS to ascend the ladder of the German intelligence. He uses his position to identify sympathetic Germans, who help him to procure vital intelligence, and to help local resistance movements in their collective fight against Nazism.

A young girl decides to join a Hussar squadron and fight against Napoleon. Dressed as a man, she proves herself an excellent, even heroic soldier, but complications ensue when her real identity is revealed.

A West German concern is conducting secret negotiations on the production of an atomic bomb with an interested state. The son of the head of the concern, realizing the monstrosity and scale of his father's activities, interrupts the negotiations and returns home with the intention to publicize his father's activities.

Fitil is a popular Soviet/Russian television satirical/comedy short film series which ran for about 500 episodes. Some of the episodes were aimed at children, and were called Фитилёк, Fitilyok, Little Fuse. Each issue contained from the few short segments: documentary, fictional and animated ones. Directed by various artists, including Leonid Gaidai who presented his famous trio of Nikulin, Vitsin and Morgunov into the cast. It was called in USSR as "the anecdotes from the Soviet government".
