Dr. Tenma, Almanya'da oldukça iyi bir konuma gelmiş, ünlü ve yetenekli bir beyin cerrahıdır. Daha öncelikli bir hasta yüzünden eşini kaybetmiş bir kadının, kocasının ardından ağlamasını gördükten sonra bundan sonra hiç bir hastasına sosyal statüsüne göre öncelik tanımayacağına dair kendi kendine karar verir. Bu kararından sonra kafasından vurulmuş bir çocuğu, belediye başkanına tercih eder. Bu kararı ona hastanedeki pozisyonuna, kariyerine, geleceğine ve nişanlısına mal olur. Tedavi ettiği çocuk bir süre sonra ortadan kaybolur. Bunu izleyen günlerde hastane müdürü ve Dr. Tenma'yı suçlayan bir kaç doktor öldürülür. Tenma, eski pozisyonuna getirilir ama bu, onu cinayetlerdeki bir numaralı şüpheli yapmaya yeter.

Godai is a ronin (someone who has failed university entrance exams) living in a run down apartment house called Maison Ikkoku. Among the other residents are the nosy Ichinose, the sexy Akemi Roppongi, and the mysterious Yotsuya. The others are given to having wild parties which makes it difficult for Godai to study. Into this mayhem comes the recently widowed Kyoko as the new live-in manager. Godai falls for her, but doesn't have the nerve to tell her. As time passes, their relationship slowly develops amid life at Maison Ikkoku, despite all sorts of romantic hurdles.

During the war-torn feudal wars of Japan, the Awa clan faced certain extinction from a rival clan backed by demonic forces. However, a careless promise by their lord leads to both salvation and disgrace when their family dog brings back the head of the enemy warlord and insists upon marrying the lord's daughter! Slowly they find each other and come together as a group. These eight warriors, who represent the eight separate aspects of the Bushido, engage in bloody battles with demonic entitles and evil samurai in the final attempt to redeem their clan!

Bander is a 17-year-old boy from Earth who lives on a distant planet, which is populated by human shape-shifters who feed off of vegetables and animal tails. Violence soon breaks out, as invaders launch an attack on Bander's new planet. This was Japan's first 2-hour animated film for television. The program received high ratings when broadcast as part of a set of 24-hour TV programs called "Ai wa Chikyu wo Sukuu" on Nippon Television. After a long gap since his last animated film for television, this work fully reflects Osamu Tezuka's desire to achieve theatrical quality with this production.

An orphaned cat adrift at sea is raised by an otter to live in the ocean. They live together in peace until one day they encounter a submarine.

Kozue is a high school girl and an enthusiastic volleyball player. Her dream is to play on the Japanese national volleyball team. Over the course of the series she makes it from the school district league up to the Japanese volleyball finals, step by step until the international volleyball championship. But the faster and higher Kozue climbs, the more she is confronted with the dark side of success: too-high expectations, self-conceit, and envy.
