Film7.5KomediSavaşJaroslav Hašek'in ölümsüz romanından uyarlanan bu Çek komedi klasiği, I. Dünya Savaşı sırasında Avusturya-Macaristan ordusuna katılan saf ve aşırı iyimser Şvayk'ın maceralarını konu alır.
Film10.0AnimasyonFantastikThe first gingerbread animation: A parody of Czech fairytale clichés about three princes who have to go for a miraculous elixir to cure their sick father.
Film10.0KomediMüzikTwo young composers offer their operetta in vain - it is rejected before anyone reads it. By a coincidence, when its text ends up in the wrong briefcase, it ends up with a popular singer who, on the contrary, likes it very much, but has no idea who wrote the play... The search for the authors, personality confusion and budding love become the main plot elements of this pleasantly naive film, where there is constant singing.

Film6.5KomediThe troubles of a young married couple with an overprotective mother and mother-in-law. Usually it ends with a wedding, but this time it begins. Young doctor Petr Dvořák marries the charming Marta Hábová. However, their honeymoon to Venice is unexpectedly complicated by Martina's widowed mother, a rich, kind, but very absent-minded lady. First, they are not allowed to cross the border because they did not declare the things she secretly packed for them for the trip, and then they spend the night behind bars because the mother-in-law, in her absent-mindedness, reports the secretly packed things as stolen after she catches a pair of robbers in her house. It is no wonder that the young marriage is soon shaken to its foundations...

Film7.0KomediThe smooth narration, corresponding to the requirements of a light comedy, develops the smiling and optimistic story of the "one-armed" beggar Dostál, who earned enough money with his excellent begging skills to buy a nice house, become a respectable master of the house, and save the impoverished lawyer Neprosil from poverty, who he contributed regularly to him when he was still well off. He also wanted to get him together with his pretty ward Zorka, for whom he said he would be an ideal husband, but the young people were able to do that by themselves and without his clumsy help, or rather despite his rather ineffective help... The film was shown at the VI. IFF in Venice in 1938.

Film7.0KomediA sometimes humorous, sometimes more serious look at the hustle and bustle of a house in Lesser Town with a diverse array of tenants living there, and often petty quarrels that break out between them. Behind the facade of the house in Lesser Town "U dvou slunců" (Two Suns) there is life. The Bavors live here, eternal slaves to the grocery store. The Ebros, who need to marry their daughter off at a good price. The bachelor Dr. Loukota and other interesting Nerudov characters.
Film7.2AileKomediIt's very human and nice story about lofty princess (her father is amiable but incapable - unforgettable performance of S. Neumann) and good, nice, kind and well-principled young king (prince) who tries to make tender her calm heart to get married with her. After being refused (she's very capricious), he conclude to make her better. He start to work as a gardener at her castle (in secret) and successively bring she to her senses...The story continues when already reformed princess and the young king (she learn about his real identity later) have to take refuge from troops, that princess father (old king) has sent (of course he took a bad and mean counsellors advice). They have to take shelter by several ordinary and poor families, which are always very friendly and give them a help... Of course the tale has happy end.
Film7.0KomediWealthy and ill Petr Kornel (Karel Hasler) is not pleased with the carousing lifestyle of his nephew. He stops supporting him financially and demands that he change his name. Out of gratitude Kornel bequeaths a substantial sum of money to his nurse Alice (Adina Mandlová) with the condition that she marries. Petr Suk (Hugo Haas), as the nephew is now named, visits the doctor. In the waiting room his X-ray is mistakenly switched with one of another patient's. On the basis of this he presently learns that he is seriously ill and has only one day of life left to him.
Film5.7KomediThe owner of a clothing store, Mr. Načeradec, spends most of his free time in a café, where he plays chess with the owner of a rival store, Mr. Dundr, over mineral water. Načeradec's daughter Edith, coincidentally, starts practicing law at the same time as her boyfriend, Dundr's son. Mr. Načeradec often fills in for Mr. Findajs at the card company, who is currently dedicating himself to the wife of another player, Mr. Tachecí, the owner of a detective agency. Načeradec keeps his winnings, Findajs has to pay for the money he loses. One day, Mr. Načeradec is so unlucky in the game that he and Mr. Dundr get into a heated argument that ends up in court. Both men are represented by their children, who are rather amused by the situation.
Film7.0AileA loose sequel to the film Little Bobes, it catches up with the title child hero in the town where he and his parents have moved. However, the expectations of a better existence are disrupted by the ever worsening social conditions in the 1930s, and living on the periphery of the big city allows even the little boy to see how evil the exploiters of the workers are. This is a graphic demonstration of how ideological features have also very insensitively crept into children's films. When Bobsha's father couldn't find work after an accident, he decided to sell the cottage and move to the city with his family. He lives in a small house on the periphery and the surrounding environment contrasts strongly with his former home. It takes Bobš a long time to get used to it. A loose sequel to the film "Little Bobesh".
