David "Noodles" Aaronson ve arkadaşları, 1920'lerin New York'unda beraber büyümüşlerdir. 1930'larda gangster dünyasında fırtına gibi esen sıkı dostlar zamanla dağılırlar. Fakat 1960'ların sonunda Aaronson, New York'a geri dönecek ve geçmişiyle yüzleşecektir.

Bu esnada su altında bir zombi belirir ve köpekbalığına saldırır. Gazeteci ve genç kadın adaya çıktık­larında doktoru bulurlar. Adadaki ölüler teker teker dirilerek mezar­larından kalkmakta ve doktor da bunun bilimsel bir açıklamasını bulmaya çalışmaktadır.

80’lerin “Altın Çocuğu” Prince’ın başrolde oynadığı Purple Rain, akıllara şarkısıyla kazınmış olsa da film olarak, gözden kaçırılmaması gereken bir dönem kültüdür. Özellikle 80’li yılları özleyenler ya da o dönemi merak edenler için önemli bir başvuru kaynağı potansiyeli taşımaktadır. Film makyajdan saça, giyim tarzından espri anlayışına kadar 80’leri layığıyla yansıtabilen filmler içinde özel bir yere sahiptir.
