The main character, Tolya, who has just entered university, is confronted with the death of his mother from cancer and unexpectedly shoulders the responsibility of organizing the funeral: obtaining a death certificate, choosing a coffin and cemetery plot, calling relatives, and meeting his long-lost father. Irony becomes Tolya's only way to cope, so the characters and the world around them transform into grotesque versions of themselves: a nurse-bartender, a sinister cross seller, and an army of ninjas. But behind every humorous detail lies genuine pain.
