A trio of unemployed homeland-hating emigrants come back to Lithuania for holiday, where by accident, they become entangled in fake businessmen roles and discover their motherland again.

With gentle irony, “Cinephilia” unmasks the illusion of film. Characters migrate through the worlds of reality and fantasy, in circumstances that paradoxically have no questions or answers. The two moons of Lars von Trier shine in the night sky, entrancing the main heroes, Roland and Isabel. Roland rents himself a room where he winds up in situations reminiscent of the plots found in Franz Kafka’s “The Trial” or Roman Polański’s “The Tenant”. A guy visits Roland, claiming that they known each other, and offers him a lot of money to film his suicide. There begins a kaleidoscopic sequence of events and random acquaintances. They make the characters wander through the worlds of reality and fantasy, sometimes both at the same time. A dark comedy that tells nine related stories in which the fates of the characters intertwine.

Ugne, a mother of two, who is abandoned by her husband Ignas after 15 years of living together. Ignas is about to marry the architect who designed their home, while Ugne is drowning in sadness and self-doubt.

The trio, tired of wandering, settle in Lithuania and prepare to live a quiet life. However, an invitation from their friend Eimutis to Norway to celebrate his birthday turns into a horror - he is brutally murdered. The friends, who have promised the police not to go anywhere, begin to solve the murder themselves with the help of Rokelis from "Emigrants. Oranges". Will the friends have to work at the factory again? How will Rokelis fit into the company and will his affair with a Norwegian police officer help, or will it just hinder the investigation? And, most importantly, will they manage to find the real killer?
