Romeo ve Juliet, birbirine düşman olan iki ailenin çocuklarıdır. Karşılaştıkları ilk anda aşık olmuşlar ve böylece kavuşamama öyküleri başlamıştır. Juliet, Romeo'ya kavuşmak için ailesini yok saymayı göze alamaz ve kendini yok saymaya karar verir. Böylece rahibin yardımını alarak bir zehir içer; herkes onu ölmüş bilecektir. Michelangelo Antonioni'nin en yetkin filmlerinden olan L'Avventura, Akdeniz'in muhteşem güzelliğini de siyah beyaz estetikle bizlere verir.

After his Western triumphs, Valerii stepped out of the shadow of Sergio Leone with this distinctly Bergmanesque sexual melodrama.Dionisio is perfect in the title role and this remains her best film, Valerii turns up along the way too. Just when the film hits a period of auto pilot John Steiner turns up in the final reel for a climax that is quite unforgettable. A bit difficult to trace but well worth the effort.

In 1967 the director Vittorio Cottafavi produces the TV movie Le Troiane from Euripides. He uses the classical Italian translation by Enzio Cetrangolo, but creates an original way of film adaptation, inspired by the Brechtian conception of staging the ancient theater. He does not use costume or set design, but is based only on the simple performance of the actors, highlighted by the shooting technique. The absolute sense of tragedy is perceived by the public through emotional engagement and imagination.
