İşin dramatik tarafı Manon yıllar önce arazisini almak istedikleri Jean de Florette'in küçük kızıdır. Manon dağlarda keçilere çobanlık yaparak yaşamaktadır. Vahşi bir yaşam süren Manon'un sosyal ilişkileri sıfırdır. Film teması bu kez aşk ve intikam üzerine kurulmuştur. Manon, ailesinin elinden dalavereyle alınan toprakları geri kazanmak istemektedir, yalnız gerçeği bilen kendisinden başka kimse yoktur. Ugolin için hayattaki en önemli şeyler yetiştirdiği göz alıcı karanfiller ve Manon'dur. Ugolin'in filmdeki rolü ilk filmde olduğu gibi basit düşünen, saf ama amcası Papet'e uyan bir köylüdür. Saf olan aşkı derin bir umutsuzluğa düşer.

Uzun bir aradan sonra doğduğu köye dönen Ugolin’in en büyük hayali, karanfil yetiştirmektir. Bu işten para kazanılabileceğini düşünen amcası Le Papet, yeğeni için bir tarla aramaya başlar ve komşusu Jean Cadoret’nin çiftliğinde karar kılar. 'Manon des sources' adında devam filmi mevcuttur.

Marcel ve ailesi her yaz Provence'daki (Fransa) evlerine tatile giderler. Marcel bu bölgedeki tepeleri çok sever. Evlerine varmak için 5 mil yürümeleri gerekmektedir. Babası öğretmendir. Marcel bu tatillerin birinde çok güzel bir kız olan Isabelle ile tanışır.

The film is set in Marais, a quiet region along the banks of Loire river in 1918. Riton is afflicted with a bad-tempered wife and three unruly children. Garris lives alone with his recollections of World War I trenches. Their daily life consists of seasonal work and visits from their two pals: Tane, the local train conductor and Amédée, a dreamer and voracious reader of classics.

Paula Barretto (Juliet Berto) is caught in the underworld because her father was involved in the drug business, her brother is in the real estate scam, and her lover is an armed thief.
