After a painful breakup with her unfaithful coworker boyfriend, Maika teams up with her company’s new CEO, Shun, in a fake relationship to get revenge. On the 18th of January, Meguru and Mirai's wedding anniversary, Meguru falls down the emergency stairs at her workplace and dies. Mirai, overwhelmed by sadness, develops a mysterious illness as a result, which is triggered due to fluctuations in his emotions. Before he knew it, he had returned to the past to the time she was still alive. As he relives his life from this point, he discovers a side of Meguru he previously wasn't aware of, as well as relationships he had no idea about. Meanwhile, he starts to search for the real cause of Meguru's death and takes action in order to save her.

Amongst these fervent fans, there was one woman who stood out in particular— The protagonist: Sachiko Kageyama (25). She has but one interest: the ‘skit’—the very soul of a comedian. Carrying a red notebook, she visits theatres day in, day out, dissecting manzai routines with a sharp eye reminiscent of the legendary All Kyojin. She was known as a ‘Neta-jo’—a professional skit watcher.

In a futuristic world where humans and mermaids coexist, the life of mild-mannered office worker Stephan is upended when he is suddenly proposed to by Chao — a princess from the mermaid kingdom. With no time to make sense of what's happening, Stephan soon finds himself living with the unpredictable, wholehearted Chao, and her sincere love begins to break down his emotional barriers.
