"Let us part - while we‘re good," Bagrat says to the peasants who have sheltered him, bleeding, from his pursuers. Let's part before any of you betray me... Twelve-year-old Azamat spends his summer vacation in the village. After another prank by his grandson, his grandfather sends him to a high-mountain pasture. There, among the shepherds, the boy initially feels uncomfortable. His peers do not miss the opportunity to laugh at how Azamat herds the flock and cleans the pens. But soon, the boy begins to value the shepherds' attitude toward him and his friendship with a one-horned cow, with whom he often plays soccer.

The seventeen-year-old Mitya Nenashkin, whom the war found far behind the lines in Siberia, had to endure and see a lot of difficult and tragic things. But the overwhelming majority of Mitya met kind, courageous people who were ready to help others and share their last. In this environment, the character of a smart, brave guy who volunteered for the front was formed.
