An ironic story about the unpredictability of human existence. The heroes of the film: two bloated grandmothers riding a velomobile, a young photographer capturing moments of sadness and joy, and his new acquaintance, a beautiful girl. Grandmothers think about impending death, young people - about eternal love. Unfortunately, not everything in life can be predicted in advance.

Elena meets up with her mother Daiva, who is living abroad and has returned to Lithuania to sell the family’s uninhabited apartment. While Daiva rushes to get the apartment in order before the buyers arrive, Elena has other plans – to get her long-lost mother back.

In 1942, in Vilna, the Nazi annihilate 55,000 Jews and squeeze the 15,000 survivors in a seven blocks ghetto. The twenty-two year old sadistic commander Kittel is assigned to administrate the ghetto in the capital of Lithuania, becoming the master of life or death. When he finds the gorgeous Hayyah sneaking with one kilo of beam stolen from the German army, he sentences her to death; but when he is informed that she was a former successful singer, he decides to activate the old theater and promote shows in the ghetto. The Jew Chief of Police Gens uses the theater and a sewing factory to save as much lives as he can; in his ambiguous position, he kills Jews to save lives of others.

The film portrays Lukša's attempts, in trips to western Europe, to gain support for the armed anti-Soviet resistance (known as the Forest Brothers), whose fortunes in a guerrilla war against Soviet authorities were waning, largely due to widespread infiltration and harsh crackdowns by the NKVD.

A single music teacher - Lina meets famous TV-host Tomas. They make a deal - Lina goes on online dates and provides Tomas with funny stories from her dates for his show in exchange for a new piano for her school.
