By the 14th century, the Byzantine Empire was, if not on the verge of actual collapse, at least seriously decadent and clearly on its last legs. The hungry wolves of Europe were preparing to dine on its corpse, and as a result the Byzantine army and its allies were constantly engaged in battles and skirmishes. In this story, a widow lives in the 14th-century Byzantine village of Doxobus with her son Xenos. She forms a relationship with a village elder, and when she gives birth to the elder’s son, her son from her previous marriage is sent to live in a monastery.

Despoina, a 20-year-old girl from a village in Evros, trying to find a way out of her stifling provincial life, runs away with a reserve officer to Athens, believing that there she will find the fulfillment of her dreams.

The connecting link of all the stand-alone episodes is the "ghost" couple, Eva - Theophilos. After their death, they are given a second chance at life as long as they win a bet. Eva will have to break up more couples than Theophilos can keep together. Their fights are proverbial and in order to achieve their goal, they find inventive ways to get involved in the lives of the "cuckold" heroes and turn them upside down...!

A children's series with puppets and actors, produced by the Sofianos family. In it stars a little girl, Paraskevi, and her box of puppets which are named Sevastianos, Fiogkos, Rouchlas and Melia. As soon as night falls and Paraskevi goes to her bedroom to sleep, she opens the box and the puppets recount to her folk tales from all over the world. The fairy tales were collected by Ivi Sofianou from libraries in Munich. The series premiered on Friday, February 5, 1988 and ran for 22 episodes.
