Renzo, a Gypsy, falls madly in love with Dolores, a young woman facing an unhappy and difficult family situation. After her mother's death, Dolores is left alone with her nanny and her brother Humberto, a man of weak character. Renzo’s love is returned by Dolores, but the couple's future is threatened by a villain named Rodolfo Farnesio—a wealthy, powerful man accustomed to getting whatever he wants. Farnesio becomes completely obsessed with Dolores's stunning beauty and begins to woo her, determined to make her his wife.

It describes the dilemma of a director in front of his characters and the search for a fetish actor who ends up being his great love. As if it were a documentary, the director remembers moments of his life and fragments of the filming of his film. That film tells the story of a poet who comes from the 19th century and contemplates the pain of the 20th century. There are tributes to her ancestors, especially her Piedmontese grandmother and her contemporary idols: actress Bárbara Mugica and Luchino Visconti.

Pilar is autistic since she was four years old, now she is 26. The father wants to send her to an Institution , but the mother refuses, this creates a rift in the couple. The family is breaking up: Alejo, the youngest son, has conflicts at school and with his friends. Pilar suffers from increasingly frequent attacks that makes their living really impossible. Finally, they put her in an Institution. She will find another way to live, but something will happen that will change the course of the family.
