When five friends discover a mysterious film reel that inspires their imagination, all long-awaited dreams seem to come true - even the dark ones.

The Wellington used to be a popular Resort Hotel located in a remote place in Switzerland. The hotel is now being managed by the third generation. Ueli has taken over that part for the past 20 years. Ever since then the hotel has gone downhill rapidly. Meanwhile hardly any guests end up in the hotel. The staff has shrunk to the size of four and they all do whatever they feel like. Only Giuseppe, the bellboy, has figured out, that things can no longer go on like that. Totally unexpected, a famous American starlet accompanied by her entire entourage books a room in the hotel, due to her independent film shooting in the area. Things are frantic in the hotel and Giuseppe finally scents his chance to rescue the hotel.

Margot enjoys life pleasures: eating, drinking, smoking, dressing in nice clothes. However, when her proposal for an advertising campaign is rejected, she becomes aware of how lonely she feels. Then Anna stands at her door. Anna was sent by the health insurance to make Margot lose weight. Every evening Anna prepares a healthy, light dinner for Margot. Margot is gradually overcomes her aversion towards Anna, who keeps her company during their dinners. A fine and fragile friendship develops. Yet, when Margot gains weight again, the insurance orders Anna to end the mission. At their last dinner, their friendship is put to the test and secrets are unveiled.
