It’s the summer of 1998 in New York City; Sayo, a soulful nightlife photographer and small-time drug dealer, is invited to a party upstate by his longtime friend and unrequited love, a movie star on the rise: Vince Marlowe. Together with their rowdy friend Ross, they drive to a remote, bucolic manor in hopes of some summer debauchery. But when they arrive, they discover that the promise of a party is actually three mysterious women — Billie, Wren, and Cata — whose disturbing agenda draws the boys into a dark web of seduction and terror.

Kiseki moves to NYC, though he can barely pay rent. Luckily, he meets Clara, who helps him make a movie. As they continue, they realize that their goals do not match, and the artistic ideals that Kiseki has clung to may not be sustainable.

New York City attracts Jane and Carlos, like so many others, with the promise of a better life. That's why they've left their home country, Brazil. Yet as immigrants, they don't have all the opportunities that the American dream implies. Their search for a new and better life represents that of all the immigrants who dare to attempt a fresh start in another country. It is also the story of changes taking place in United States and Brazil. The fictional story about Jane and Carlos in this experimental film is intertwined with the personal experiences of the film team, which reports in interspersed episodes about their own immigration and that of others they've researched.
